Just a few weeks ago we enjoyed filming a promo video for our Taste of Liverpool Food Tours – the weather was fantastic (blue skies and fairly mild). Here’s a sneak peek of what foodie explorers can enjoy hopefully in the coming months…
The 1st filming location is Rough Hand Made – a fab independent based at The Albert Dock. Sharon, Carlos and team create scrumptious pastries (sweet/savoury) and pitta/breads daily. The coffee is also fantastic! The film ‘cast’ enjoy an array of delights before heading off to the 2nd filming food stop – Lunyata.
This charming restaurant is the ‘brainchild’ of Peter and Elaine Kinsella. It’s varied food and drink range offers all things Spanish and Catalan. The film enjoy a great dish of migas (a Catalonian breakfast dish) and the film crew catch lovely shots of the chefs in action.
Our third filming venue is Madre. This is one of the ‘new kids’ on the Albert Dock block and with its modern funky
decor, smilie and knowledgeable staff and awesome tacos and drink it has arrived in the city with a bang! It’s tequila range is just fabulous…
The cast enjoy tacos with a shot of tequila. Matt (GM) highlights the business concept and his knowledge/charm brings the experience to life… it’s the first time many of us have experienced quality tequila and drunk the ‘proper’ way with salt and orange.
Our fourth filming stop/destination is A Tavola hidden just off Duke St. As we weave our way there we stop off for photos and to admire some of the amazing sweet art (in particular Paul Curtis) at The Baltic Triangle.
Maria (manager) and her team give us such a warm welcome at A Tavola. Italian wine is enjoyed together with generous amounts of bread, hams and cheeses from Italy. Obviously we make sure to get the obligatory ‘cheers’ on camera and the filming is a ‘wrap’.
When the ‘lockdown’ goes and normality returns, yes, our tours will be here for you to enjoy but please also remember the GREAT food and drink independents dotted across our FAB city ready to serve you
